Just a catch up

Hey all!

Can I just say the higher you go in college the crazier your schedule becomes….

Anyway, I've read but haven't got around to reviewing.

These are the books that have been stacking on my to review shelf.

Okay, let's be honest I read these like the first week of school.

I'm now basically a month in and in over my head.

Also, the upside of being in over my head with schoolwork and work is:  all the books that I'm waiting on have yet to be released !

SO thats whyI haven't really been around guys.

Click ~ Marian Tee Review

Click
by: Marian Tee

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ok. . . warning this book takes you through some dark and rough places.

Creeps of extreme nature are in it.

It's rough and although I am team Tee (or team Marian) there were a few times I had to put the book down to breathe.

MJ goes through some crazy sh-tuff. And Helios has a couple of crazy moments.

THATS ALL THE SPOILERS YOU'RE GETTING FROM ME.

Is it worth it in the end?

Yes.

Was I happy in the end?

Yes.

Obviously I'd read it again.

So if you've have or have not read the previous two book then you should:

a) read them if you haven't. What are you waiting for?

b) read this one. It's rough but it's worth it.

In conclusion, I really respect Marian for this one because everything isn't daises and sunshine 24/7 365 and although we get that in all her books in this one her understanding of that shines through.

Burn ~ Marian Tee Review

Burn
by: Marian Tee

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Talk about the feels.

At one point I was completely on the Mj's side then I was on the Helios side, and then I wasn't sure who's side I was on.

And let's not even talk about the ending.

It was one of those 'take-a-deep-breath-so-you-dont-throw-your-tablet' endings.

However this is a part of their story. And if you love them, like me, it's important to the overall story.

So off you go. Go read it guys.

Swish ~ Marian Tee Review

Swish
by: Marian Tee

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

She's done it again!

I swear to Mickey mouse I love this woman!!!

I'm totally team Marian or team Tee. . .

whatever! you guys get the point.

I absolutely adore her work.

Swish grabs you with the first sentence and by the end of the prologue you are totally and completely invested.

You're like this girl BETTER get her HEA like now.

And so you follow her  story and . . .

OK , Ok, no spoilers.

But the two things I will say is

 1) watching her grow and love is inspiring!

2) GO READ THIS BOOK, AND THE NEXT TWO.

trust me its worth it.

Opposition ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Opposition
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I . . . have been with this series from the start.

This review is my good bye to it.

Daemon. . . you've never let me down.

Katy… girl I had my moments with you! Your pig headedness got us in some rough and hurtful situations, but then again without it we wouldn't have had the journey we went on through the 5 books.

This book definitely surpassed my expectation.

I was thoroughly and completely in my feelings through out every page turn.

This entire series was sooooo worth it.

Thats really all that I can say without spoiling the entire book, which I happily will lol i need to talk to someone about the major feels. But I won't. Instead I'll let you all see exactly what I mean first hand.

Thank you so much for the gift of the Lux Series JLA!

Rogue ~ Katy Evans Review

Rogue
by: Katy Evans

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Katy Evans continues to rock my socks!

Then why four stars you ask…

It's because although our male lead is hotter than hot and makes you fall in love with him every time he enters the scene, he just isn't Remington Tate. LOL

But honestly, this book was awesome, and I'd highly recommend it to those who are into Young Adult and New Romance.

Do yourself a favor and read it.

Drip Drop Teardrop ~ Samantha Young Review

Drip Drop Teardrop
by: Samantha Young

⭐⭐⭐⭐

So this one left me like….well that escalated way too quickly.

It was over before I was ready for it to be.

However the story line was pretty freaking enticing.

I couldn't put it down because I needed to know what was with him and what that meant for her.

So maybe it escalated quickly because I sped through it. . .

Matter of opinion I guess lol.

Ultimately it was a good book, do I wish it lasted a little longer yes, but a good book all the same.

But if you can't take my word for it. . . that's fine. Just read it for yourself.

Happy Reading!

The Art of Wedding A Greek Billionaire ~ Marian Tee Review

The Art of Wedding A Greek Billionaire
by: Marian Tee

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Four Stars for this one!

Ok, I'm going to be flat out honest. I enjoyed every minute of his suffering. Not because I'm a bitter hag, but because he deserved it all and in my opinion and then some. The things he said to her in the book before the last still has me a little sore.

But anyway she's getting her HEA so I can't lie, I am happy for her. But I'm so over him still. LOL.

Wonderful read (as always when it comes to Marian. Im so obsessed with her stories)

Not much I can say without spoiling it. So how about you guys just go read it?

I've been slacking on my blogging

Hiya Bookies, Biblios, and Visitors,

It's been quite awhile.

I've been MIA for 2 main reasons.

1) Personal Problems. I had to take time to remember who I am with or without people. And rest assured Bookworm is definitely a part of Am. I practically read the entire time.

2) I kind of feel like my blog barely gets traffic. So I was tweeting my 2 cents and leaving it at that. However, my 2 cents is hardly enough lol so I'm back, traffic or not!

Reviews coming at you double time.

Here's a list of all that I've read that I'm reviewing tonight:

The Art of Wedding A Greek Billionaire by Marian Tee

Drip Drop Tear Drop by Samantha Young

Rogue by Katy Evans

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Bronagh by L.A. Casey

Swish by Marian Tee

Happy reading guys.

I plan to set up a schedule for my blog so I'm posting at least four times a week.

If there's any suggestions as to what you'd like to see or participate in I'm all ears!

The Coldest Girl In Coldtown ~ Holly Black Review

The Coldest Girl In Coldtown
by: Holly Black

⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book was . . .

I wasn't expecting it to grasp my attention the way it did.

What I was expecting it to do was have a sequel…. But I can't find one soooo….

Im just crossing my fingers for that.

I think this book was a really good read.

A little more detail here and there would have been appreciated.

And you have to keep up because it is a fast paced book.

But overall four stars!!!

Now . . . i have to find whats next up in my book line up.

What I'm (my book club is) reading

Aloha!

(No I'm not in Hawaii but a girl can dream right?… anyway)

Just A quick update for my bookies and biblio's

I am currently reading:

Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

For some unknown reason…
I'm excited about this one.
Could be mysterious burdened boy….
Yeah it has to be him.
Anyway… happy reading!!

The Wait Game Feels

Am I the only one who feels like all the books I'm waiting on either come out in August or are on a TBA release date?

If not, what are you reading?

Help a fellow bookie/ bibliophile out!

August is like a month and some days away.

Any suggestions to get me through if not….

AND I DONT EVEN SMOKE!!!

help me stay a non smoker.

LOL.

ok but seriously, I am definitely open to old book, new book, arc book, blue books suggestions…. well no, I'm not open to blue books, they bring back nightmares from last semester. . . but you get me!

Good night my fellow Bookies and Biblios.

The Greek Billionaire and I ~ Marian Tee Review

The Greek Billionaire and I
by: Marian Tee

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Warning: I may be a bit biased because I love her books. Read them all, except two.

This book was awesome.

I literally laughed out loud a few times.

I almost shed a tear.

Needless to say the feels were way to real.

Read it. Enjoy it. Its worth it.

Will I reread it.

Yes, probably sometime in the very near future.

These Broken Stars ~ Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner Review

These Broken Stars
by: Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

⭐⭐⭐⭐

So, if you haven't noticed yet, at times I can be a bit of a sic-fi nerd. Ok, honesty hour, I am a sic-fi nerd. The point is, new sic-fi series always excite me and causes me to be cautious.

This book was no exception.

Before I began I was like please don't let this be awful and a complete waste of my time.

And my pleading was answered.

These Broken Stars tells a wonderful story with powerful themes.

I'd recommend it, and not because of my nerd status, but because it was truly a good story. The plot development was awesome.

Will I reread this again?

Maybe.

ok probably yes.

It's been a while...

So I've been missing in action for a few weeks.

Sorry.

I was having some personal problems and long story short, I'm just now starting to bounce back.

But enough about my sob story.

This past week I read two books. One's been out the other is fairly new to the bookie scene.

First up, something old:

It's a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone.

Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they’re worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.

Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other’s arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder—would they be better off staying here forever?

Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it.

And now something fairly new:

When the powerful, sexy, and gorgeous Greek billionaire Mykolas Sallis finds a misplaced cellphone and reads its messages, he becomes intrigued with its owner, a woman who seems to possess the rare combination of beauty, wit, and lots of snappy comebacks.

13:15 How about going for a movie tomorrow night?

13:16 Thomas, you're a good guy, so I'm going to tell you the truth once and for all.

13:17 What is it?

13:18 I'm a lesbian. I want your d*ck - but not for the reasons you're hoping for.

When curvy 24-year-old schoolteacher Velvet Lambert speaks with the Greek billionaire the first time, she knows right away she's out of her league. She does her snarky best to resist, but in the end she still finds herself saying 'yes' to a marriage of convenience, pretending she isn't head over heels with him, and trying not to lose hope even if she knows Mykolas only sees her as a prized possession.

Sentinel ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Sentinel
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I always find myself completely in my feelings when I finish this book and therefore this series.

As a reader I've gone through this long exciting and emotional journey with these characters and every thing goes down so fast. I don't know about others but for the majority of this book i was in the "no this can't be right and that can't be right" state and in the end it was but it was for the better.

The Covenant series shows lessons of immaturity to maturity, knowing vs. understanding , want vs need , love vs in love.

This series never gets old.

It kicks daimons butt every single time.

So to sum it up with a sentence and a gif:

Sentinel had me all in my emotions but its such a great book!

Apollyon ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Apollyon
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The way the plot thickens and progresses in Apollyon is beautiful.

Our main character can't really catch a break.

i'm always left with a sense of anxiety for her at the end of this book.

Many things happen in this book that mess with your emotions and deepens your investment in the be all end all ending.

The way this book ends…. I am angry. For Alex.

What I absolutely love about this book is the way the reader experiences deeper and/or different sides of the main three characters.

Elixir ~ Jennifer L. Amrentrout Review

Elixir
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Holy
Mother
of
Pearls.

Team Aiden! Legitimately for the rest of the series.

I think I've fallen in love with him a bit myself.

Aiden . . . sheesh I can hardly review it.

It's was great to be inside his head and see his thought process and what he is truly feeling!

This book FTW!

Wish there was more of his POV.

Elixir Teaser

“Did I ever tell you about the first time I saw you?”

She shivered. “No.”

Closing my eyes, I felt her snuggle closer. My hand curled into the thick material of her sweater. I rested my chin on her head. “I was sixteen and you were probably fourteen.”

“I can’t remember fourteen.”

“That’s okay. I remember for both of us.” I counted to ten before I continued, making sure my voice didn’t give. “It was toward the end of the day and I was heading into the training rooms with a friend.

Classes were still going on, and I was walking by the door—it was open—and I heard laughter. Something you don’t usually hear during training. I had to stop and see what was going on.”
It was the first time I’d seen her. No one could miss her. She was the smallest in the room, shorter and skinnier than all of her opponents, but that wasn’t why she stuck out. There’d been this impish grin on her face, an energy that was infectious as she’d bounced around the mats, circling a tall, blond-haired boy. The Instructor had been irritated, no doubt by her and the attention she was drawing from a pure and an entire class riveted on her. But once I’d seen her, I couldn’t look away. It was like being hit by lightning.

“You were training with Cal—with a friend—going through takedown moves. He kept trying to get the upper hand, but you kept laying him out, laughing the entire time. Both of you were laughing. That’s why I looked.”

“Did you know me then?” she asked sleepily.

“No.” I held her closer, as if I could somehow pull her inside me and keep her safe. “But I knew, in that moment, you were amazing.”

What I'm Reading

Ok!

I got a confession to make.

This weekend I binged read the book after Deity is Elixir.

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

Well I read that Saturday. And finished it. Soooo what I'm actually reading right now is:

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

It's going down!!

Need I say more?

Happy Reading!

Deity ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Deity
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I always struggle with Deity.

I know that in the grand scheme of things the way things go down in the book is necessary but for the most part it aggravates me.

Still a great book with a great couple of plot twists.

Alex: Holy Daimon Babies!!! When I say she annoyed me in this book, I mean it! It was like, haven't you learned by now girl??? Yeesh! Open your eyes.

Aiden: Team Aiden all the freaking way. Marry me sir. Marry me.

Seth: . . . well we are no longer having trouble debating team Seth's placement. . . he's back to being a douche. . . a major douche.

All in all the insight and set up in this book was amazing, and I'd reread it billions of time ( if i haven't already) because this is the book where true colors start to show and the plot seriously twist and turns and deepens that I can't help but keep turning the pages!

Deity Teaser

“Something… something is different about you.”

A desire to flee the room filled me, but I faced him instead. I glanced down at my palms. The marks were still there. Why did I keep checking on them like they’d go away or something? “So much has happened, Aiden. I’m not the same person.”

“You were the same person the day you found out about your father,” he said, eyes turning the color of a thundercloud.

Anger began low in my stomach, humming through my veins. “That has nothing to do with this.” Aiden pushed off the wall, hands coming out of his pockets. “What is this?”

“Everything!” My fingers dug into my palms. “What’s the point in all of this? Let’sjust think hypothetically here for a second, okay? Say Telly or whoever doesn’t manage to send me into servitude or kill me and the furies don’t end up tearing me apart, I’m still going to turn eighteen. I’m still going to Awaken. So what’s the point? Maybe I should leave.” I stalked to where I’d dropped my bag. “Maybe Lucian will let me go to Ireland or something. I’d like to visit there before I be—”

Aiden grabbed my upper arm, turning me so that I faced him.

“You said you had to stay at the Covenant so you could graduate, because you needed to be a Sentinel more than anyone else in the room.” His voice dropped low as his eyes searched mine intently. “You were passionate about this. Has that changed?” I yanked on my arm, but he held on.

“Maybe.”

The tips of Aiden’s cheekbones flushed. “So you’re giving up?”

“I don’t think it’s giving up. Call it… accepting reality.” I smiled, but it felt icky.

“That is such bull, Alex.”

What I'm Reading

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate

Pure ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Pure
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

As I stated before… This book seriously gives me heart palpitations…. but then again so do the following books. But still.

It's a great book and it ultimately sets up ( and when rereading clears up) the many twists and turns soon to come in the storyline.

In this book:

Alex - At times I wanted to throttle her, other times I just wanted to give her a hug, and there were a few times that I was ready to fight for her.

Aiden -  I love me some Aiden St. Delphi but I was seriously tempted to take a knee to him a few times ( not that the hit would make it) for some of his words and actions.

Seth - Oh you know, he's still the same old Seth. Still not sure if he's team good guy or bad guy. The difference in this book is I always find myself starting to not care what team he's on because he's clearly team Alex/himself. When he's with her there's this whole other side that i quickly find myself crushing on. Every. Single. Time.

Ok glad that the heart wrenching and palpitation giving book is over. Now the plot deepens.

Pure Quotes

"Pure-bloods were off-limits to us halfs, which meant what had gone down between us was tantamount to feeling up the Pope or offering Gandhi a roast beef sandwich."

"Seth remained still for a minute, maybe two. Then he moved his arm down, circling my waist, pulling me closer. My body fit against his, my hand resting on his chest. Under my palm, his heart hammered as wildly as mine."

"He clapped his hands together, letting out a rather high-pitched squeal before grabbing my hand. “Oh, we are going to have so much fun! Aren’t we? Fun, Alex— we will have fun.” "

Honestly I didn't highlight much because I got sucked in, as usual, I couldn't even stop.

What I'm Reading

There is need. And then there is Fate. Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's other half is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

This book gives me heart palpations….. but still:

Happy Reading (if you're with me)

Half-Blood ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Half-Blood
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Definitely 5 out of 5 stars!

I have reread this book, uhhh I lost count of how many times, time and time again and it still hasn't got old.

I always find something that sticks out more every single time.

Alex- Hot head who's passionate

Aiden - *wipes drool* I can't even describe him just . . . read the book and you'll understand

Seth - the sexy mofo who you're not sure if he's team protagonist or antagonist

There's so many more characters that were great to read but those mentioned above are always the main three.

In this book Alex has a lot of lessons to learn, and boy does she start to learn them. She honestly never catches a break, but you see it building and molding her character at the very least. Certain situations she is put in or must face really connects you with her and takes you from being annoyed with her to Team Alex.

This book holds action, romance, mystery, horror, tragedy, and comedy. (i love books like this)

So there's honestly something for everybody.

I definitely recommend it, any time, any place, read it!
